2023-03-23140

Preface

In the 1970s, laser cutting technology was first applied to modern industrial production, and in the subsequent development process, it was gradually applied to the cutting of different materials such as sheet metal processing, plastics, and glass. It has become an indispensable and important process in industrial production processes. It has the advantages of high efficiency, high accuracy, not easily limited by materials, and flexible processing, and is gradually replacing traditional processing and manufacturing methods.

Laser cutting concept

Laser cutting is the use of a focused high power density laser beam to irradiate a workpiece, rapidly melting, vaporizing, or reaching the ignition point of the irradiated material. At the same time, using a high-speed airflow coaxial with the beam to blow away molten material, thereby achieving the cutting of the workpiece. It is one of the hot cutting methods for cutting the workpiece. In addition to the supporting members, moving parts, and corresponding motion control devices required for general machine tools, laser cutting equipment should also be equipped with a laser processing system, which is composed of three parts: a laser, a focusing system, and an electrical system. Up to now, one 18KW and one 25KW advanced laser cutting equipment has been introduced and put into production. In terms of cutting and blanking, automatic typesetting has been achieved, featuring material saving, smooth cuts, low processing costs, and green and pollution-free features.

Laser cutting operation process

1. Material fixation

Determine the material to be processed, fix the sheet metal material flat on the processing platform, and then determine the stability of the material placement to avoid shaking during the cutting process, resulting in unsatisfactory cutting accuracy.

2. Input parameters

Operate the console, input the cutting pattern of the product, the thickness of the cutting material and other parameters, then adjust the cutting head to the appropriate focus position, and then reflect and adjust the nozzle centering.

3. Start

Start the voltage stabilizer and protector body

4. Edge search

Automatic laser. The machine automatically searches for edges.

Advantages of laser equipment cutting

1. Excellent cutting section quality

Due to the small laser spot, high energy density, and fast cutting speed, laser cutting can achieve better cutting quality. The laser cutting cut is narrow, with both sides of the cut parallel and perpendicular to the surface. The dimensional accuracy of the cut part can reach+0.05mm. The cutting surface is smooth and beautiful, with a surface roughness of only tens of micrometers.

2. Fast cutting speed

Using a laser cutter with a power of 1800W/2500W, it can cut with high accuracy, cut edges without burrs, and have a linear speed of up to 150mm/min. It can process a maximum sheet width of 1550mm, with a product dimensional accuracy of+0.05mm, and a linear error of 0.05mm. During metal laser cutting process, raw materials do not need to be clamped, which not only saves tooling fixtures, but also saves auxiliary time for loading and unloading.

3. Non-contact cutting

During laser cutting, the cutting torch does not contact the workpiece and there is no tool wear. "When machining parts with different shapes, it is not necessary to replace the" cutter ", but only to change the output parameters of the laser. During laser cutting, there is low noise, small vibration, and no pollution."

4. Multiple cutting types

Laser cutting can easily cut hard and brittle materials, such as glass, ceramics, PCD composite sheets, and semiconductors, as well as soft and elastic materials, such as plastic, rubber, and so on.

Laser light can be focused into tiny light spots and can be used for micro and precision processing, such as processing of micro narrow slits and micro holes. Secondly, lasers can cut almost all materials, including two-dimensional or three-dimensional cutting of thin metal plates. Finally, laser processing does not require the use of cutters, and belongs to non-contact processing, without mechanical deformation.

Therefore, laser cutting technology with high efficiency, high energy, and high flexibility, whether in terms of accuracy, speed, or efficiency, is the best choice for the sheet metal processing industry. Some traditional plates that are difficult to cut or of low quality can be easily solved after laser cutting. Especially for the processing of some carbon steel plates, laser cutting has an unshakable position.

It can be seen that metal laser technology has changed the traditional "game rules" of sheet metal processing, and has also changed the way we think about product manufacturing.

In a sense, laser cutting machines have brought a significant technological revolution to sheet metal processing. Compared to traditional cutting methods, laser cutting machines are easier to understand and learn, and have absolute advantages in terms of processing efficiency and speed required by businesses. Therefore, it is believed that laser cutting machines will be the trend in the future choice of cutting methods.
