Tesla Reacquired Black Technology Patent: Using Laser as Windshield Wiper
2023-07-0470

According to foreign media reports, Tesla has successfully obtained a patent for using a laser as a windshield wiper.

According to foreign media reports, as early as 2018, Tesla applied for a laser based technology patent. On May 10, 2019, the company applied to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for a patent for "pulse laser cleaning of debris accumulated on glass products in vehicles and photovoltaic modules". More than two years later, on September 7, 2021, the company finally obtained approval from USPTO.

According to the patent application, the inventor of this patent is Phiroz Dalal. According to his LinkedIn profile, he has worked at Tesla for four years and currently holds the title of 'Senior Staff Science and Industrial Imaging Expert'.

According to reports, the Cybertruck prototype car does not have windshield wipers, and when Tesla applied for this patent, some people believed that this crazy concept might be it.

According to foreign media, just because Tesla has a patent does not mean that the next generation of Tesla cars will use lasers. However, this is possible, but it is unlikely to be put into production soon.
